Woman fighting for life after hit and run in Marshall, Geelong

The driver allegedly fled the scene on foot, while his two passengers remained at the scene.

A woman is fighting for life after a hit and run where the driver took off on foot.

Police are investigating a collision in Marshall, Geelong, on Wednesday night.

A red Holden Commodore sedan collided with a silver Mazda hatch on Barwarre Road about 6.15pm.

The female Mazda driver was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital in critical condition.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the woman, in her 40s, had upper and lower body injuries.

The male Commodore driver allegedly dumped the vehicle and fled the scene on foot, while the male and female passengers of the Commodore remained at the scene.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed a man in his 30s with upper body injuries was taken to University Hospital Geelong in a stable condition by road ambulance, while another person was also taken to the same hospital by a road ambulance.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the collision.

Any witnesses or people with dashcam/CCTV footage have been urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
