Man charged after attacking driver with metal pole in front of children during school pick-up
A man has been charged after an ugly brawl involving a metal pole outside a Melbourne school on Tuesday afternoon.
A 21-year-old man has been charged following a violent altercation that unfolded in front of a group of children during school pick-up in Melbourne.
The distressing scene took place in Melton, west of the city, Tuesday afternoon, after a shirtless man allegedly took to a car with the blunt instrument, Nine News reported.
Police were told he allegedly stepped out onto Coburns Road near High Street just before 3.30pm before smashing the car’s windscreen.
The incident caused three other cars to collide nose to tail, police said.
The driver of the damaged car then stepped out of the vehicle and allegedly became involved in a physical fight with the shirtless man.
“A Melton man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with multiple offences including reckless conduct endangering life, affray and assault with a weapon,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

He has been remanded to appear in Sunshine Magistrates’ court on March 16.
No one was seriously injured.
