Melbourne man filmed in midst of wild afternoon rampage
A man who smashed a shop window and broke through a car’s window has had his bizarre rampage captured by an onlooker.
Shocked onlookers have captured the moment a man went on a terrifying rampage in Melbourne, destroying property and smashing a business window.
The incident unfolded in Sunshine, in the city’s west, on Monday about 4.30pm, with the man captured kicking the door of Thuan An restaurant, shoving pot plants to the ground and slamming the door, Herald Sun reported.
He was heard yelling out obscenities then seen grabbing a metal table and smashing it nine times into the front window of another store.
The man then threw the table on the ground and jumped on a car’s windscreen, causing it to smash.
One shocked bystander managed to film the whole ordeal as it unfolded.
“From the footage, he looked like he was high,” Thuan An owner, Julie Than, told Herald Sun.
“My staff were shocked but they are pretty resilient because it’s happened before. It’s an ongoing issue in the town centre, police just don’t get here quick enough.”
She said there needed to be more security in the area to support locals.
The man has yet to be tracked down, with a police investigation ongoing.
Fortunately no one was injured in the incident.
