Blue balloons spelling out Mr Baird’s name and framed photographs of the Melbourne-born entertainment reporter lined the stage as attendees honoured and celebrated Mr Baird’s life.

A number of Channel 10 stars, AFL umpires and Jesse Baird’s siblings were among the attendees seen donning colourful attire and embracing mourners outside the venue.

In a touching eulogy, Mr Baird’s mother Helen Baird paid tribute to her son and said “there is less sparkle in the world” now that he was gone.

“My beautiful, generous, loving, precious, caring and talented boy, our hearts and lives are changed forever,” she said.

“I promise to fight for you and make you proud. My heart is broken, my darling boy, and I love you more than this world.”

Mr Baird’s father Gary Baird held back tears as he described his son’s empathy towards others as both “unrivalled and immeasurable”.

“You squeezed 100 years of life into 26 and our hearts are broken. You will be missed but never forgotten,” he said.

Mr Baird’s siblings also spoke at the memorial, describing their brother as an “inspiration”.

“You were the absolute light of my life, my biggest inspiration and my biggest cheerleader,” Kourtnee Baird said.

“I will forever by proud of your achievements, inspired by your outlook on life and hold you in my heart,” Brenden Baird said.

Mr Baird and his partner Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies were allegedly murdered by serving NSW police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon in Mr Baird’s Paddington terrace on February 19.

The couple’s bodies were found at a rural property at Bungonia, two hours south of Sydney, after a major manhunt was launched on February 20.
