Full list of exposure sites as Melbourne continues lockdown

The number of close contacts isolating has spiked significantly overnight as new venues were added to a rising list of exposure sites.

The number of close contacts isolating due to Victoria’s latest coronavirus outbreak has spiked sharply overnight.

Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed on Monday more than 1400 Victorians had now been identified as primary close contacts, up from 949 on Sunday.

That figure includes about 300 primary close contacts at new exposures sites revealed on Monday – three mental health units at Northern Hospital, Broadmeadows Hospital and The Alfred, and Glenroy Central Kinder and Goodstart Early Learning Centre in Glenroy.

Almost 1600 people have also been linked to a positive case in a cafe worker at Melbourne Airport’s terminal four.

Victoria’s coronavirus testing commander Jeroen Weimar said almost 80 per cent of primary close contacts had so far returned a negative result.

“I’m so grateful for those who come forward, we are looking for the remainder to come forward over the next day or so to conclude that testing picture,” he said.

“130 people across those cases who are very close immediate household and social contacts, where contact was the strongest.

“129 have returned a negative test result. There is the one outstanding, associated with our Brunetti worker.”

It comes as Melbourne’s iconic Queen Victoria Market and several tram routes were added to the state’s growing list of public exposure sites.

The health department four new locations to the tier one venue alerts list on Sunday evening, including the market and the route 11 and 58 trams.

A confirmed case visited the Queen Victoria Market in Queen Street, Melbourne on February 11 between 8.25am and 10.10am.

The cases attended section two – fruit and vegetables – and used the female toilets in section two.

Anyone who visited this section of the market during the same period is required to immediately isolate, get tested and remain isolated for 14 days.

The confirmed case also used the route 11 tram from stop D16 – Harbour Esplanade/Collins Street to William Street/Collins Street #3 between 7.55am and 8.10am on February 11.

They also used the route 58 tram from stop Bourke Street/William Street #5 to Queen Victoria Market/Peel Street #9 between 8.10am and 8.25am on the same day.

They then used the same tram – route 58 – to return from the Queen Victoria Market/Peel Street #9 stop to Bourke Street/William Street #5 between 9.40am and 9.55am.

Anyone who used these tram routes at the same time is also required to immediately isolate, get tested and remain isolated for 14 days.

Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre in Pascoe Vale, Elite Swimming Pascoe Vale, Woolworths Broadmeadows Central were also added to the list of public exposure sites on Sunday.

On Monday, Ferguson Plarre Bakehouse at Broadmeadows Central was removed as an exposure site and Bonbons Bakery at Broadmeadows Central was added.

It came after new information confirming the case visited that bakery instead, during the same time period.

It comes as the Melbourne Airport Holiday Inn cluster has grown to 17 with new cases including a woman aged in her 50s and a child aged under 10.

The number of active cases in Victoria is 21, 15 of which are locally acquired cases.
