Former NBL and AFL player Hugh Greenwood has sold his Melbourne home for $1.5m as he prepares for a pre-season as a development coach at the Gold Coast Suns.
Greenwood played 121 games in the AFL for the Adelaide Crows, the Suns and at North Melbourne, but came to the sport after a basketball career that included time with the Perth Wildcats in the National Basketball League and on college sides in the United Sates.

With a career working alongside Damian Hardwick in the Gold Coast now ahead of him, Greenwood and his wife Kjiersten Straub-Greenwood decided to sell their family’s five-bedroom house at 16 Hannah Pascoe Drive earlier this year.
The house had been slated for auction on March 1 with a $1.38m-$1.5m asking price, but when multiple interested parties keen to negotiate ahead of time plans for the sale were brought forward.
Nelson Alexander’s David Vaughan said the $1.5m sale price had been what the Greenwood family had been hoping for, with the home’s floorplan, 700sq m block in the popular Riverwalk Estate neighbourhood and a renovation all helping to build appeal for the home.

The agent said the property had sold to a “lovely family”, which had thrilled the Greenwoods.
“They are absolutely ecstatic, and so happy that a family have bought it and will enjoy it the way they have,” Mr Vaughan said.
“And they are looking forward to getting to the Gold Coast and getting settled as they commence pre-season.”
He added that with a basketball hoop set up in the back yard and plenty of space to kick a footy, the home provided a perfect perch for a sporting family.
