Man found dead 40 minutes after woman in suspected murder-suicide at Melbourne apartment
A woman who died in Melbourne is believed to be linked to a man who was found dead at the bottom of a building just 40 minutes after she was injured.
A woman who was fatally injured at a Richmond apartment has been linked to a man found dead shortly after with police probing a murder-suicide theory.
The unidentified woman was found in a Church St apartment about 3.20am today after reports she was injured.
She died at the scene and homicide squad detectives are investigating the “suspicious” death, Victoria Police said.
The body of a man was found at the base of a building at the intersection of Spencer and Little Collins streets about 4am, just 40 minutes after emergency services were called to the Richmond apartment.
“Police believe the man and woman were known to each other,” the force said in a statement.
“Investigators are not looking for anyone else or believe any other party is involved in either incident.”
It is not believed the man’s death is suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
The pair’s age has not been made public.
The incident is under investigation and a crime scene has been established at the Richmond apartment building.
Anyone with information has been urged to call police.
