Woman allegedly stabbed on Melbourne train, witness recalls frightening attack
A woman has allegedly been stabbed by another woman on a moving train in front of other passengers, including a two-year-old child.
A woman has allegedly been stabbed in the face in a shocking attack on a Victorian train.
The incident reportedly took place on a V/Line train travelling towards Sunshine Station about 11.40am on Monday.
A witness to the incident said the alleged attacker appeared to be drug affected when she reportedly stabbed another woman.
“Nobody could help her. It was devastating to see this happen on a train where I was travelling with my two-year-old son,” a woman who asked to remain anonymous told 7News.
Police confirmed the victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
The alleged offender fled the scene before police arrived
Transit Safety Division officers are investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
