A woman, also believed to be in her 30s, was treated for upper body injuries and was taken to The Alfred hospital in a stable condition.
Two more people were assessed and taken to The Alfred hospital in a stable condition.
Neighbours of the victims are understood to have an extensive security system, which is currently being assessed by police.
The house is in a new housing estate, with a number of homes under construction nearby.
Local tradesman Robert said he regularly had to replace doors after break-ins into homes still under construction on the street.
“You’ll get to work in the morning and someone will have ripped the door off it’s hinges looking for something to steal despite the fact the house isn’t finished,” he said.
“Other than that it’s been a pretty quiet street I haven’t noticed any problems for the people living there.”
Police are yet to lay charges.
