Probe launched after dying man dumped at Melbourne hospital
The man was dropped off at a Melbourne hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
Homicide detectives have pleaded for public assistance after a dying man was dumped outside a Melbourne hospital on Sunday morning.
The man, who is yet to be identified, was found with life-threatening injuries at Casey Hospital in Melbourne’s outer east about 7.30am.
A Victoria Police spokesman said it was understood he was “dropped off” by an unknown person or persons, who then left the scene.
“He was treated at the scene, but later passed away,” he said.
At this stage, detectives from the homicide squad are working to understand the what occurred in the lead up to his discovery.
“Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have any information about the man’s death or the circumstances surrounding it,” the spokesman said.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.”
According to Monash Health, Casey Hospital is a 229-bed facility in Berwick which provides a range of services including an emergency department.
