A MELBOURNE man narrowly avoided death earlier this month after a sickening assault where he was repeatedly punched then pushed onto the train tracks.
Crimestoppers has released CCTV vision of the frightening attack which shows how close the victim came to being hit by a train.
It shows him being struck repeatedly in the head before being shoved off the platform and onto the train tracks at Yarraman train station in Noble Park. It then shows the moment he narrowly escapes being hit by an oncoming train.
The attacker then gets on his bike and rides away but still continues to yell abuse at the victim, who is helped back onto the platform by a bystander.
He was dragged to safety just two minutes before an express train hurtled past. Channel 9 reported this morning he was left with a broken leg.
The offender appears to be a of Pacific Islander appearance and aged in his 20s.
