Shane Warne, Michael Slater and Kevin Pietersen drive without seatbelts while travelling in Hobart
FORMER spin king Shane Warne and two of his commentator colleagues could be in hot water for not wearing seatbelts while through Hobart.
FORMER Australian cricket star Shane Warne and two of his television commentary peers could face $300 fines for not wearing seatbelts while travelling in a van after day three of the Hobart Test.
In a four-minute video – which Warne streamed live on Facebook – the spin king, former Australian batsman Michael Slater and former England captain Kevin Pietersen could be seen not wearing seatbelts while sitting in the back of the van.
The driver, former Australian skipper Mark Taylor, and front seat passenger, former Australian keeper Ian Healy, both had their seatbelts fastened.
The live video attracted numerous comments. One viewer said “safe driving boys”, to which Warne replied: “Yes, we’ve got Mark Taylor driving so that’s good.”
Other people commenting told the men, all members of the Channel 9 commentary team, to put their seatbelts on, which they did.
The fine for not wearing a seatbelt in Tasmania is $300.
Drivers are also responsible for ensuring their adult passengers wear seatbelts.
Tasmania Police is aware of the video but is unable to confirm if any action is being taken.
