Let us check out after checking in

HAVE I missed something? Logic dictates that if you check in, you should be able to check out. If a Covid-positive person checks in an hour after I have left the premises, I may possibly be forced to isolate quite unnecessarily.

We should, at least, have the option to check out, as well as in. Why has this not happened, and will it become possible? Checking out would surely reduce the number of people who need to be traced, as they demonstrably have left the building before contact was likely. I am not getting any younger, so please allow me the chance to check out, before I check out for good.
