THE moustache might be more laughable than intimidating but because its in the name of a good cause Australian quick Mitch Starc doesn’t mind.

Firebrand Starc is not expecting to add any more fear factor when he takes on South Africa in the second Test starting at Blundstone Arena tomorrow, with his effort for Movember still a work in progress.

But he has no hesitation jumping on as an ambassador and joining forces with the Mobart Mo Bro crew Stuart Cooper and Callan Dell and to help raise funds and awareness for the cause.

“At the moment it’s probably more laughable than intimidating,” Starc said.

“Maybe by week four it will have some sort of shape and we will see what we come up with.

“You can have a bit of fun with the mo, but it probably upset the wife a bit as well.

“It’s a fantastic cause to be a part of, spread the word on men’s health and try and raise some funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health issues.”

Now in their 11th year, the Mobart Mo Bro group will again be tackling the Point to Pinnacle on Sunday.

Team captain Tommy Windsor — who will miss the event with a calf injury — said the 100-plus strong group is aiming to better last year’s record breaking effort in fundraising.

“We are hoping to again this year, as we were last year, be the highest fundraising team in Australia,” Windsor said.

“Last year we raised $92,000 and this year we are hoping to get over $100,000.

“Movember is the only global charity tackling men’s health and they do take men’s health in its entirety ... it is fantastic to have Mitch Starc on board, Cricket Australia are a great supporter of Movember.”
