Man denies Gagebrook shooting charges
A MAN has denied shooting a neighbour after a verbal dispute over a back fence at Gagebrook.
A 22-YEAR-OLD man has denied shooting a neighbour at Gagebrook after a verbal altercation.
Jamie Leigh Feil appeared in the Supreme Court in Hobart today where he pleaded not guilty to committing an unlawful act intended to cause bodily harm and recklessly discharging a firearm.
Crown Prosecutor Linda Mason said it was alleged Feil and his partner verbally intervened in a domestic dispute at Gagebrook on March 5, 2014.
There was an exchange of words over a fence with Samuel David Pennicott, who then turned and walked away.
As he reached his back door, he was hit by pellets which peppered his face, neck and arm.
Feil was spoken to by police afterwards and denied firing a weapon, but admitted throwing a firecracker.
The case, before Chief Justice Alan Blow, is expected to continue for four days.
