House fires at Rokeby and Eaglehawk Neck under investigation
A FIRE that caused $50,000 damage to a vacant Rokeby property last night may have been deliberately lit, police say.
A FIRE that caused $50,000 damage to a vacant Rokeby property last night may have been deliberately lit, police say.
Tasmania Fire Service crews attended the Joseph St blaze about 8.30pm.
Tasmania Police said damage was limited to scorched carpets and smoke.
“There was evidence that the fire had been deliberately lit,” police said.
Fire investigators will look into the cause today.
Police would like to hear from members of the public who may have information about the fire.

Meanwhile, the cause of a blaze that completely destroyed an Eaglehawk Neck property yesterday will also be investigated.
The Lyne St fire also destroyed two vehicles.
Investigators arrived at the property at 8.30am today.
