A TEENAGE boy has been charged after death threats were made at a Sydney church from a car allegedly baring an Islamic State Flag.
Witnesses at the Maronite College of the Holy Cross in Sydney’s west were left shaken last Tuesday as the car drove past with people inside threatening to “kill the Christians” and slaughter their children.
A 14-year-old boy was arrest yesterday at his Wentworthville address and charged with intimidating a school staff member and offensive conduct over the incident which occurred last Tuesday.
It is alleged the boy, who was sitting in the front passenger’s seat, yelled abuse out of the window while holding a flag.
The arrest comes after the car allegedly drove past Our Lady of Lebanon Church at Harris Park on the same date, with witnesses telling police threats were made to people outside the church.
“They were strong words and people were scared of what they saw,” a priest from the church told AAP.
The boy was taken to Paramatta Police Station and will front a children’s court on Monday October 2014.
