A South Australian man has been jailed after he filmed himself raping his girlfriend’s intoxicated mother.

The man, 25, who cannot be named for legal reasons, left his ex-partner “scarred” after she found the shocking videos on his phone,The Advertiser reported.

The man’s girlfriend found the horrifying videos after suspecting him of cheating.

Checking his phone she found footage of her partner indecently assaulting or raping her mother on what appeared to be a massage table.

Her mother, who as a heavy drinker at the time, was unconscious.

The District Court heard how the woman’s family “would never be the same again”.

“Effectively your victim and her family took you in and treated you as one of their own,” Judge Anthony Allen said.

“Your betrayal of their love and affection is nothing short of appalling.”

The man was sentenced to five years in jail, with a non-parole period of three years, and the sentence was backdated to September 18.

A victim impact statement by the man’s former girlfriend was read to the court last month.

“I’m scarred for life after watching multiple videos of him violating my mother,” she said.

“No one should have to tell their mum that and I’ll never forget her screams and cries.”

The ex-girlfriend’s mother told the court, through a prosecutor, that her daughter called her after she found the sickening videos.

“He chose to rape a person who regularly showed him more generosity and love than his own family,” she said.

“I felt very violated, betrayed and ashamed by someone I let into my family and home as a son.

“Our family will never be the same again.”

The man pleaded guilty to rape and engaging in humiliating or degrading filming, relating to the offending between 2022 and 2023.

The court heard the man told his partner his motivation for the offending was revenge after the partner disclosed personal information to him.

The court heard the man held a role at a football club but was now unable to work in the industry due to his convictions.
