SA weather: Adelaide set to continue its dry, sunny start to May
Our eastern neighbours are expecting heavy rain for the weekend – but when is the wet stuff coming to South Australia, as we look forward to a run of beautiful sunny weather?
South Australia is set to continue its dry, sunny start to April into the weekend while a washout has been tipped for east coast cities.
Adelaide is due to hit a maximum of 21C on Thursday before a run of sunny days over the weekend and into next week.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday are predicted to be clear blue skies, reaching tops of 22C for each while not dropping below 9C.
The prediction is in stark contrast to Sydney’s forecast which - by the end of the weekend - could be slammed with over a month’s rain, with more than 100mm coming down between Friday and Sunday.
In Adelaide, the sunny conditions are set to hang around on Monday into Tuesday with a top of 23C forecasted.
Adelaide is not predicted to experience any rain until Wednesday, with a 70 per cent chance of a late shower with 1-5mm of rainfall tipped.
Experts tip rain for next Thursday with 1-5mm on the cards while the sunny skies are predicted to be back in time for next weekend.
The weather station in Adelaide on West Tce only received 12 mm of rain in April, coming off only 3mm in March (3 mm) and a rainless February, meaning the city only registered 15 mm of rain during the last three months.
Weatherzone.com.au are reporting 2024 has been Adelaide’s driest February-to-April period since 1923 and its fourth driest such period since records commenced in 1839.
