Queensland Police investigate sudden death of child in Innisfail

Police are investigating the sudden death of child after they were found unresponsive in a vehicle.

A child has died after being found unresponsive in a vehicle in Far North Queensland, where temperatures neared 30 degrees.

Emergency services were called following reports a child was unresponsive inside a vehicle parked on Rankin St in Innisfail, about 90km south of Cairns, about 1pm on Monday.

Paramedics provided the child medical assistance, however, they were declared dead ta the scene.

Queensland Police have launched an investigation into the child’s death.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Innisfail was forecast to hit a top of 30 degrees on Monday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
