Boy flown to hospital after being bucked and stomped on while riding bull

A young boy who was riding a bull has been flown to hospital after he was bucked by the animal and stomped on.

A young boy has been flown to hospital after a bull stomped on his leg in the South Burnett region.

Emergency crews were called to Maidenwell following reports a primary school aged boy had fallen from a bull near Kingaroy Cooyar Rd about 6.45pm on Saturday.

It’s believed the child had been riding the bull when it bucked him off, then turned and stood on his leg.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics arrived on scene first and treated the boy’s broken femur.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed nearby at Tanduringie Primary School where the aeromedical crew assessed the boy and prepared him for flight.

He was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition and accompanied by his mother.
