Hard work and dedication have landed a migrant couple keys to their first investment property to have a go in ‘the country of opportunity’.

From washing dishes at a McDonalds in Melbourne to owning his business in Calamvale Arvinder Singh, he has taken the leap into purchasing his very own investment property with his wife Aman Gaba in Yarrabilba.

“I moved here for a better future in 2008; it was make or break to give my family the best life.” Mr Gaba said.

“Our business, Ispa Kebab, is a passion of ours; my wife and I work very hard to provide for our family.

“We can do this in Australia as it is full of opportunity; I worked every day and sacrificed a lot of my time to provide that future for my wife and children.”

Mr Singh said building a portfolio wasn’t just to provide for his family in the short term but to future proof his children’s future and give security to his family.

“Some things are meant to happen, and I thank God for that, but you’ve always got to work hard if you want something,” he said.

“If you’re an investor, don’t be afraid to sacrifice a little to achieve your goals and dreams.”

Residential sales professional from Ray White AKG Keron Petzer said he noticed many investors buying into the Logan region over the last 12 months.

“We’ve seen crazy market growth over the last couple of years; it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down,” Mr Petzer said.

“Transparency with my investors is my approach, and when we go to that next step of doing a rental appraisal, we are always very conservative in setting reasonable expectations.

“If the landlords expect a good figure for the yield and get better, that’s always what we want for our investors.”
