A woman has been charged with murder after a nine-year-old boy was found unresponsive inside a home overnight.
A woman has been charged with murder after a child was found dead inside a Townsville home overnight.
Emergency services were called to a property on Charles St in Kirwan about 7.05pm on Saturday after reports of a child being unresponsive.
The nine-year-old boy was found deceased when police arrived.
The 24-year-old woman – whom police allege was known to the boy – was taken into custody at the scene.
“Investigations into the circumstances of the boy’s death are continuing,” a Queensland Police statement read.
She has been charged with one count of murder and is due to face Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday.
