A dog’s wild pursuit of a teenage boy wanted for allegedly stealing a car has been released.
A police dog’s relentless pursuit of a teenage boy wanted for allegedly stealing a car has been captured in wild body cam footage.
Queensland Police arrested five people in Moreton yesterday after tracking a stolen black BMW taken from a Mango Hill home on Wednesday night.
One of those was a 15-year-old who allegedly ran from officers when the car was located in Kippa Ring about 1.30pm on Thursday.
Police dog “Wolf” was used to pursue the boy, with footage released by Queensland Police showing the intense chase that unfolded.
Held on a long leash, Wolf can be seen sprinting down a driveway toward a high wooden fence.
The dog prowls back and forth waiting for its handler, before launching up and over the fence.
After running along a storm drain the dog and officer eventually find the boy they were searching for.
“Get on the ground,” the police officer calls.
The Zillmere boy was later charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and with an unrelated robbery alleged to have occurred on May 16 at a Maroochydore retail store.
He was refused bail to appear before Brisbane Children’s Court on Thursday.
Other arrests included a 15-year-old Mango Hill boy was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property.
A 14-year-old Kurwongbah boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act for unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Investigations led police to a Griffin home where two teenage girls were also charged in relation to the alleged use of stolen bank cards from the Mango Hill house.
A 15-year-old Griffin girl was charged with enter dwelling and commit, receiving tainted property, stealing and two counts of fraud.
And a 13-year-old Strathpine girl was charged with enter dwelling and commit, receiving tainted property, and two counts of fraud.
They are both due to appear in Redcliffe Children’s Court on June 7.
