Man charged with filming up women’s dresses at Chermside Westfield

A man has been charged after he allegedly filmed up women’s skirts as they rode an escalator at a popular shopping centre.

Police are appealing for more women to come forward after a man was caught allegedly filming up alleged victims’ dresses at a popular shopping centre.

The man was arrested after one of the women reported to Queensland police that she allegedly saw the man behind her on an escalator filming under her dress at the Chermside Westfield shopping centre in Brisbane on April 21, 2023.

Carseldine Criminal Investigation Branch detectives investigated the allegations and identified other women as alleged victims.

The Parkinson man has been charged with unlawful stalking and five counts of observations or recordings in breach of privacy.

He will front Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 4, 2023.

Further investigations by police have allegedly identified multiple breach of privacy offences on the man’s mobile phone between April 20, 2023, and August 3, 2023.

Investigators are still in the process of identifying the victims involved.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or believe they may have been a victim are being urged to contact police.
