Police are appealing to two brothers who allegedly murdered a woman by shooting her in a suburban street to come forward after fleeing into northern NSW.

Chloe Jade Mason, 23, died after she was allegedly chased down and shot on Railway Pde in Caboolture on December 22.

Queensland Police have now issued arrest warrants for brothers Codye Thomson, 29, and Kaine Thomson-Gleeson, 32, for her alleged murder.

Investigators believe that the two men may be camping in northern New South Wales and may be travelling in a white Holden Commodore wagon with Queensland registration 953 HO4.

Police believe the pair remain together while “in hiding” and sleeping in their car.

The vehicle was last sighted on December 30, travelling through northern New South Wales at Chinderah before the brothers visited family in Kempsey.

“Obviously, these men have travelled some distance from Caboolture to across the border and would’ve interacted with members of the public along their journey,” Moreton District Detective Inspector David Harbison said.

“I would appeal to anyone in northern New South Wales or even those in southern Queensland who believe they may have seen these men or this vehicle to come forward to police.

“Any little bit of information can go far in helping us in this investigation.”

Detective Inspector Harbison said police had previously spoken to the two men during their investigation into the shooting, as one of the men lived on Railway Pde.

“The two male persons sought by police were located and interviewed as witnesses on that date along with a number of other witnesses,” he said.

“Those male persons were subsequently interviewed and released without charge, pending further investigations.

“At that early stage of the investigation there was simply insufficient evidence available to indicate their involvement with this (alleged) homicide.”

However, following further evidence from neighbours and members of the public, Detective Inspector Harbison said police were “satisfied they had sufficient evidence” to bring the brothers before court.

“The investigation has now established that the deceased was known to these male persons,” Det Insp Harbison said.

“The deceased attended a Railway Pde (address) and an altercation occurred.

“It is alleged the deceased received a gunshot wound during that altercation and subsequently died.”

Police had also found a rifle in the street following the shooting, which was still undergoing forensic testing.

Detective Inspector Harbison urged the community to not approach the brothers if they spot them and instead immediately call triple-0.

“We do consider they are dangerous,” he said.

“I would urge these wanted persons to hand themselves in to the nearest police station.

“Otherwise police will continue to hunt you, you will be found and arrested on our terms, using the appropriate use of force options available or required in the circumstances,” he said.

“We consider them dangerous, they know they’re wanted for the (alleged) murder of Chloe. We fear they will go to lengths to avoid apprehension.”

Anyone who may have seen the men or knows their whereabouts is urged not to approach them but to immediately call triple-0 (000).

More to come.
