THE trial of a Brisbane mum who told police she was possessed by the devil when she twice tried to kill her baby has been discharged.
THE trial of a Brisbane stay-at-home mum who told police she was possessed by the devil when she twice tried to kill her baby has been discharged on the orders of the presiding judge.
In the Supreme Court this morning Justice Glenn Martin ruled that he had decided to dismiss the jurors on the trials seventh day, The Courier Mail reports.
“It’s got nothing to do with you,” Justice Martin told the jury.
“You are now discharged,” he said.
Ashleigh Watterson was in the second week of her three-week trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court after pleading not guilty to deliberately obstructing her daughter Sarah’s breathing on two occasions in late 2010.
The jury was discharged on Thursday and the case has been adjourned for a mention on March 29.
