Most voters support Anthony Albanese’s decision to scrap the stage three tax cuts, according to the latest Newspoll.

A majority 62 per cent of voters believe the Prime Minister made the right choice, but only 38 per cent said they would be better off.

Despite the result, the two-party-preferred contest remains unchanged since December and there has been no boost to Mr Albanese’s personal approval rating.

The head-to-head battle between the two leaders remains at 56-35 in Mr Albanese’s favour.

Labor’s primary vote was up one point to 34 per cent, snatching it from the Greens, which dropped to 12 per cent.

But the two-party-preferred split remains at 52-48 in Labor’s favour.

The Coalition has a primary vote of 36 per cent, while One Nation is up one point to seven per cent.

Independents and minor parties remain stable on 11 per cent.

The poll of 1245 voters was conducted between January 31 and February 3.

Parliament will resume on Tuesday, with the government planning to introduce legislation to replace the stage three tax cuts with a new model that will redirect $84bn in tax cuts from higher-income earners to lower-income earners.

The Reserve Bank of Australia will also meet on Tuesday, with interest rates likely to remain on hold.
