A NUMBER of roads across Sydney have been closed after rain soaked the city overnight and the bad news is that there’s no end in sight for the wet weather.

The Bureau of Meteorology warned last night that a solid 12-18 hours of rain would fall across Sydney and the Illawarra overnight and the result was commuters waking up to chaos on the roads and a dark and dreary end to the week.
Sydney’s north west was hit hard by the rain with a number of road closures in place this morning.
Stoney Creek Road in Shanes Park, South Street and Grange Avenue in Marsden Park, Hambledon Road in Schofields and Rouse Road in Rouse Hill are all closed due to flooding.
Southbound traffic on O’Riordan Road in Mascot is affected by flooding while Audley Road in Audley is closed in both directions in the National Park.

The temperature isn’t expected to pass 16C in the city today or tomorrow and it will be slightly colder in the west.

With a 2cm dusting of snow in both Perisher and Thredbo overnight, it might also be a good time to pack your skis (or snowboard) and head to the mountain.
There will be 11 lifts open at Perisher today and eight at Thredbo and it’s expected to remain sunny over the weekend.
