Shocking footage has captured the moment a food delivery driver fled the scene of a suspected hit-and run – only to be wiped out by a van seconds later.

The incident unfolded on Unwins Bridge Rd in Sydenham on Tuesday, and has since surfaced on social media.

The video shows the Honda scooter rider speeding off between parked cars and traffic before slamming into a Toyota van.

The man filming the video accuses the rider of hitting his car and trying to flee the scene.

“Don’t do a hit and run bro, that’s what happens,” he said.

“This guy hit my car and tried doing a hit and run… you’re crazy, bro.”

Officers from Leichhardt Highway Patrol issued the 21-year-old delivery driver with three infringement notices for not sharing details with the owner of damaged property, negligent driving and failure to give way while merging.
