PRINCE Harry jetted out of Sydney yesterday after a quick and soggy visit to launch the Invictus Games for wounded veterans in the harbour city next year.
The red-haired royal braved the wet weather on a boat ride up the Parramatta River yesterday to spend the morning checking out the Sydney Olympic Park venues that will host the Games for 500 wounded and injured veterans.
At the Aquatic Centre he met veterans who will be part of the Australian swim team travelling to compete in Toronto later this year.
David Neagle, 39, who served in East Timor, said during their brief chat the prince was very excited about holding the event in Sydney’s 2000 Olympic Games venues next October.
“This was the venue where we had these amazing swimmers setting incredible records and it will be great to have the Invictus Games here,” Mr Neagle said.
The prince toured the Netball Centre, Aquatic Centre and the Novotel before heading to the airport for his flight home to London.
