Dogs warm up with cosy jumpers
THIS weekend is going to be cold and rainy, so get out the puffer vests, alpaca jumpers and cable knits — for your pooch.
IT’S time to get out the puffer vests, alpaca jumpers and cable knits — for your pooch.
This weekend’s cold and rainy weather means your pet will also want to stay rugged up and dry. Sydney is expecting a top of only 18C and there’s a 60 per cent chance of rain.
Pet boutique Dogue said there had been a “big uplift” in sales of dog coats, knits and jumpers in the past month.
“Cable knits, puffer vests and all-weather coats have been really popular,” Dogue’s Shauna Perry said.

“We also sell alpaca wool jumpers — a lot of dogs are allergic to sheep’s wool and alpaca wool is a lot more gentle on skin, as well as being lightweight and durable.”
Otis, a two-year-old miniature groodle, prefers a chunky knit.
Amelia Perry, 25, of Bronte, believes that if it’s cold enough for her to wear a beanie, then it’s only fair Otis has a jumper.
“Otis and I need to feel cosy and comfortable as the temperature starts to fall,” she said.
