“Tit 4 tat,” and “Vape don’t rape” were sprayed on the base of the sculpture of Queen Victoria yesterday afternoon, according to NSW Police. The statue, made by John Hughes, is more than a century old and was originally located in Dublin before it was moved to Australia in the late 1980s.

Police said about 3.50pm a man was seen spraying the statue before leaving the scene. Police were notified and started an investigation. They also received reports of graffiti in other parts of the CBD and are investigating whether the incidents are linked.
