Swimming pool owner charged with two counts of indecent assault of children

The owner of a swimming pool and aquatic centre has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting two girls over a three-year period.

The owner of a swimming school in Lavington near Albury has been charged with aggravated indecent assault.

The owner of a swimming school and aquatic centre near Albury will face court today after being charged with indecently assaulting two girls over a three-year period.

Detectives began investigating allegations a girl, 14, had been sexually touched by a man at GT Aquatics, a swimming centre in Lavington outside Albury in NSW in August last year.

The owner of GT Aquatics, a 41-year-old man who was known to the teenager, was charged on November 8.

After continued investigations by the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad, the man attended the Albury Police Station on Thursday, May 23.

The man was arrested, and charged with a further two counts of aggravated indecent assault, for crimes that police allege date back four years.

“Police will allege in court the man sexually abused another girl — then aged eight — on two separate occasions during swimming lessons at the Lavington pool between May 2015 and September 2015,” NSW Police said in a statement this morning.

The swimming centre owner was released by police on strict conditional bail and will appear today at Albury Local Court.

Police have advised their investigations are continuing.

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect, according to NSW Police.
