Police have seized a knife decorated with Nazi symbols during a search of a home in southern NSW yesterday.

Police were searching the home after arresting two men, 35 and 52, who had allegedly threatened a 20-year-old man with a handgun in Queanbeyan yesterday.

The young man went to Queanbeyan Police Station yesterday about 1.30am after he was allegedly threatened with the firearm on Carinya Street.

A NSW Police spokeswoman told news.com.au the two accused were known to the victim, however there is “no suggestion the attack was racially motivated”.

Police investigating the alleged incident stopped a vehicle on Cooma Road, and arrested two men, 35 and 52.

Police searching the vehicle allegedly found a replica firearm inside the car, which was seized from the men. The two men were taken to Queanbeyan Police Station.

Police later executed a search warrant at a home at Boronia Street in Queanbeyan, where they seized a number of weapons, including the knife decorated with Nazi symbols.

Also seized were a conducted electrical weapon (similar to a cattle prod), a gel blaster gun, a BB pistol, a replica firearm, numerous knives and machetes, a cannabis plant, property believed to be stolen and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Police charged the 35-year-old with common assault, possess unauthorised pistol, have custody of an offensive implement in a public place, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

The older man was charged with common assault and possession of an unauthorised pistol.

Bail was refused for both men. They will face Queanbeyan Local Court today.

A group of four people wearing Nazi uniforms were spotted walking through a Coles supermarket in Victoria last month, leading to widespread outrage.

The group told a concerned shopper to “f**k off” after he confronted them about their outfits, which included swastikas and imperial eagles.

Jewish groups warned anti Semitic attacks and sentiment was on the rise in Australia following the sighting.
