A man has been hospitalised after being stabbed multiple times while at a work site in Sydney.

A spokesman for NSW Police told news.com.au officers were called to the site on Coward Street at Mascot about 11am today.

“Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended, where they found a 25-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds to his leg,” police said in a statement.

“He was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.”

A spokesman for NSW Ambulance had earlier told news.com.au the man was in a serious condition, after he was stabbed multiple times.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man was refused bail to appear before Central Local Court on Tuesday.

The incident comes after two recent knife attacks at construction sites.

Vladimir Kondakov stabbed a father and son at a construction site earlier this month in St Peters, in inner west Sydney.

The father, Albert Metledge, 76, was killed in the attack while his son, Antony Metledge, 33, was hospitalised in a critical condition.

Kondakov fled the scene and was later found dead in a park.
