Man faces court over allegedly confronting John Ibrahim

A heavily tattooed man who calls himself “Butch” faced court for a Facebook video confronting nightclub boss John Ibrahim. But he had one win.

A heavily-tattooed man who calls himself “Butch” shook his fist in celebration in court today as he was granted bail over charges of publishing indecent material on Facebook.

Burwood Local Court heard that Mohamed “Butch” Haochar posted a video of himself confronting nightclub boss John Ibrahim at his Dover Heights mansion.

The court also heard that he had cropped several images to show guns pointed at the heads of former boxer Danny Green, convicted murderer Bassam Hamzy and other members of the Hamzy family.

Haochar was arrested when he reported for bail at Ryde Police Station in Sydney’s west on Tuesday morning.

The 37-year-old from Dundas Valley has been charged over alleged indecent posts on social media over the last week.

Police said that on Saturday investigators from its Strike Force Raptor began investigating after becoming aware of several of Haochar’s posts on social media, which were deemed to incite violence.

Bassam Hamzy — who is allegedly featured in some of Haochar’s posts — was jailed in 1998 over the shooting murder of Kris Toumazis outside a Sydney nightclub

Last Saturday, Mr Haochar posted a Facebook video of himself approaching Mr Ibrahim’s Dover Heights home.

The footage shows Mr Haochar, who has a grenade tattooed across his forehead and King Kong tattooed on his knuckles, trying to provoke a confrontation.

“John, Habib, it’s me, Butch,” he yells before ringing the doorbell.

“Let’s see if he answers...come on, John. He’s not answering, f**k. Come on, John, answer it’s me.”

When Mr Ibrahim comes to the door, Mr Haochar stops recording.

However, Mr Ibrahim posted CCTV footage from his home on Facebook which shows him calmly turning Mr Haochar away after a brief conversation.

Mr Haochar was charged with four counts of publish indecent article.

This morning he was granted bail at Burwood Local Court. As part of his conditions, he is required to stay away from Mr Ibrahim’s home and he is not allowed to post social media posts featuring Danny Green, Bassam Hamzy and other members of the Hamzy family.

He will return to court on May 20.
