Man allegedly stabbed on morning jog in west Sydney

A jogger who was stabbed multiple times sought help at a McDonald’s after what police believe was a “random attack”.

A man is in hospital in a serious condition after he was allegedly stabbed multiple times while on his morning jog in western Sydney today.

The man had been running around Woodcroft Lake in Woodcroft when he was allegedly attacked, before 5am today, allegedly being stabbed multiple times in his back by an unknown man.

After being attacked, the victim ran to a nearby McDonald’s to ask for help. A police spokeswoman told news.com.au the attack, which left the man in a serious condition, is believed to be “random”.

Emergency services were called to the McDonald’s on Richmond Rd about 5am, and on arrival they found the victim, a man in his 20s, suffering from multiple stab wounds to his back.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene, before being taken to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

A crime scene was established and police inquiries continue.
