Man, 24, dies after pub brawl
A 24-year-old man has died from head injuries sustained in a brawl at a northern NSW pub.
A man has died in hospital after a pub brawl in northern NSW.
The brawl occurred at an East Ballina venue on December 22, with the 24-year-old man suffering serious head injuries.
The man has been identified as Jesse Vilkelis-Curas by Nine. Curas’ family told Nine a dispute allegedly broke out between Mr Vilkelis-Curas and his brother and another group of men over a spilt beer.
Police said the man and his friends were at the pub near Hill and Park Streets, becoming involved in an altercation after leaving.
The 24-year-old was punched and hit his head on the ground when he fell. He died about 2.30pm on Thursday at Gold Coast University Hospital. Charges are yet to be laid.
The man’s death follows the arrest of a 50-year-old man on Friday in connection with the fatal assault of a 46-year-old man in Queanbeyan.
The man died after reportedly being punched a number of times and was found by police on Thursday in a semi-conscious state under Queens Bridge. He was taken to Queanbeyan District Hospital but later died.
