House fire reveals suspected hydroponic set up in suburban home
A house fire early this morning has revealed a suspected hydroponic set up, with police launching an investigation into the unexpected discovery.
A house fire in Sydney’s west early this morning has reportedly uncovered a secret hydroponic set up.
Police have launched an investigation after the suburban home in Toongabbie was partially destroyed by a fire, which caused the roof of the home to collapse, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Emergency services were called to the home on Wentworth Avenue following reports of the fire about 12.15am on Monday. The fire was extinguished but the house had been significantly damaged, according to NSW Police.
The home is reportedly a rental property, and nobody was inside at the time of the fire.
A NSW Police spokesperson told news.com.au they were not able to comment on the nature of the suspected hydroponic set up inside the home.
The home is currently too dangerous to enter due to fire damage and it is suspected the property may be riddled with asbestos, 9 News reports.
A crime scene was established and officers from Parramatta Police are investigating the suspected hydroponic set up.
