Police have released footage of the car used in a drive-by shooting in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville that left two men in hospital after they were shot at Adel’s Hair Salon.

At the time of the broad-daylight shooting on Friday, July 7, 2023, both men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were rushed to hospital, with one man suffering serious injuries.

Shortly after the attack, emergency services responded to reports of two burnt-out vehicles – a grey Kia Stinger and white Triton Ute – abandoned in Marrickville and Dulwich Hill.

Two days later a third burnt-out car – a white Toyota Aurien – was found in Smithfield.

Months later, investigations are still ongoing, prompting detectives from Task Force Magnus to release CCTV footage of the white Toyota Aurien.

Police hope members of the public can identify two men, wearing all black tracksuit pants and hooded jumpers, seen leaving the Toyota Aurien in Smithfield and getting into a white Toyota Yaris.

On Tuesday, detectives executed three search warrants in Cecil Hills and Smithfield.

The CCTV release comes after detectives spoke with more than 25 bikie associates in July from across Sydney, Wollongong and Katoomba.

Detective Acting Superintendent Glyn Baker said at the time that “whether through vehicle stops, door knocks, or compliance checks – our best detectives are on this case, relentlessly pursuing leads to find those responsible”.

“We are working closely with Raptor squad to ensure that while inquiries are being made, OMCG associates continue to feel the insistent pressure from police,” Superintendent Baker said.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
