Police speak with bikie associates over Marrickville shooting

The investigation into the broad daylight shooting of two men has taken a turn after a new team took over control.

Marrickville shooting two injured

Strike Force detectives are speaking with dozens of alleged bikie associates as part of the investigation into a broad daylight shooting in Sydney.

Two men – aged 20 and 33 – were shot near a hair salon in Marrickville about 1.50pm on Friday.

Both men were taken to hospital, with one man suffering serious injuries.

The criminal groups squad – under Strike Force Orsino – have since taken over control of the investigation from inner west police.

Over the weekend, detectives spoke with more than 25 bikie associates from across Sydney, Wollongong and Katoomba.

The squad would be honing in on these bikie associates as the investigation continued, its commander Detective Acting Superintendent Glyn Baker said.

“Whether through vehicle stops, door knocks, or compliance checks – our best detectives are on this case, relentlessly pursuing leads to find those responsible,” he said.
