Eternal Bridal director Sebastian Lee said brides were taking inspiration from the red carpet for a glamorous look on their big day.
“They’re not interested in the big ball gowns and the princess look that was popular 10 years ago. We are finding that these days brides are choosing slimmer-fitting trumpet gowns and asymmetric cuts,’’ he said.
“Brides are also becoming a bit more adventurous with colour. Sherbet and light shades of pink and blue are increasingly popular.”
To cater to the fashion-forward bride, Lee is bringing the latest collection of US bridal designer, Anne Barge, to Australia.
Barge’s glamorous wedding gowns have been worn on the red carpet by celebrities including Glee’s Amber Riley.
This is the first time Anne Barge gowns will be available in Australia.
“She (Barge) is a well renowned designer who focuses on traditional gowns with a modern twist,” Lee said.
Barge’s collection will be showcased at the Luxury Bridal Expo at Royal Randwick Racecourse this weekend.
