Melbourne comedy roadshow performs to sold out crowd in Alice Springs
Five comedians have hit the Red Centre, bringing laughs to Alice Springs residents – and they have their sights set on Darwin next.
Some of Australia’s hottest comedic talent have rolled through the Red Centre for a night and left an abundance of laughter in their wake.
Performing as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow, comedians Brett Blake, Bron Lewis, Danielle Walker, Nick Schuller, and Rapha Manajem performed to a sold out crowd at Araluen Arts Centre in Alice Springs.
The laughs were MC’ed by Brett Blake, who said he loved coming to Alice Springs.
“I was actually here last year for the roadshow,” he said.
“I love country towns, particularly Alice Springs, you’ve got such a comedy icon – Fiona O’Loughlin’s from here, so it’s great to be back in her hometown and where she started.”
The comedians will now head to Darwin to perform at the performance at the Entertainment Centre, with crew pumped to head to the top end, Mr Blake said.

“Last time I was in Darwin, the V8 supercars were on, so it was perfect timing for me, but this year it’s not – but I’ll still be hanging around,” he said.
And while Mr Blake said there were no plans for any pre-show beverages on Mitchell Street, he plans to hit the strip once the show’s done.
“I’ll definitely be having a few, that’s for sure,” he said.
