‘S*** it was Chanel’: Woman defaces election poster with luxury lipstick
Stunning footage has captured the moment three posh women - one armed with Chanel lipstick - defaced an election poster in an affluent Sydney suburb.
Extraordinary footage has captured the moment a posh woman used Chanel lipstick to deface a Teal campaign poster in one of Sydney’s most affluent suburbs.
Home security footage, obtained by the Mosman Collective, captured the stunning act of vandalism outside a home in Mosman just after midday on Thursday.
In the clip, the woman - egged on by two other immaculately-dressed friends - uses the luxury lipstick to scrawl the word “pig” over the face of Warringah MP Zali Steggall.
The instigator, dressed in a pink and white stripped dress, begins scribbling on the poster with the lipstick before turning back towards her friends.
“Oh … you’ve ruined it,” one of the women says.
“Oh, was it a good one?”
“S*** it was Chanel,” said the woman holding the lipstick. “Why’d you let me do that?”
The woman then accidentally drops the lipstick on the ground before picking it up and returning to the poster.
“Do piggy things on her nose,” one of the women instructs her.
In a statement to news.com.au, Ms Steggall said it was “really disappointing” to see vandalism in her community.
“It shows disrespect for others property and goes against the values of respectful political discourse,” she said.
“I call on all members of our community to show respect for each other’s property and engage in respectful and constructive political dialogue.”
“Our campaign remains focused on addressing the real issues that matter to our constituents.”
NSW Police said a 76-year-old woman was issued a warning over the incident.
“About 12.15pm on Thursday 27 March 2025, police were notified that a political poster was allegedly defaced in Cobbittee Street, Mosman,” a NSW Police spokesperson said in a statement to news.com.au.
“Following inquiries, a 76-year-old woman was issued an official warning by police attached to North Shore Local Area Command.”
