Police seek help in identifying mystery alleged ‘doorstep pooper’

Police have asked the public for help in identifying a man who allegedly defecated on a woman’s doorstep three days in a row.

Police have requested the public’s help locating a man who has allegedly made a habit of defecating on a woman’s doorstep.

The hunt for the infamous alleged “doorstep pooper” began this week following numerous reports human faeces had been discovered at a Queanbeyan home, a town on the NSW-ATC border.

Monaro Police District shared an image of the alleged offender to Facebook Friday in an appeal for public assistance.

“Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate numerous trespassing incidents at a residential address in Morton Street, Queanbeyan, this week,” its post read.

The male was described caucasian appearance, aged between 30 and 40-years-old with a medium build and a full beard.

The plea came after a woman shared a now-deleted post about a man captured on her mum’s security camera squatting down on her veranda.

“Hi guys, just letting you know that my mother who lives in Queanbeyan – Crestwood has had to deal with this guy coming three days in a row to defecate on her doorstep,” she wrote.

She attached three photos – one appeared to show four areas on the pavement subject to droppings, one of a man crouched down, and one of him appearing to prepare to pull his pants down.

In 2018, an unrelated Brisbane retirement village employee was identified as the city’s “poo jogger”.

In 2019, celebrity publicist Roxy Jacenko also exposed an early morning jogger who she said had repeatedly defecated on the street outside her Sydney office.

Someone else was called on in Marrickville in 2020 following repeated offences, with a local erecting a sign threatening to report them to police if they didn’t stop.

While there are biological explanations behind someone needing to poo midway through a jog, the cause of the latest incident in Queanbeyan remains a mystery.

Anyone with information about the incident was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on1800 333 000.
