When ambulance workers answered a distressing call from a hysterically upset woman at 4am, they feared someone was in danger.

But after asking for help, Amanda Louise Hearne refused to answer any questions. She said she was “at home” then “in Melbourne,” before abruptly hanging up.

Paramedics tracked her number to her Sydney apartment, only to discover she was not in trouble at all.

That was one of several instances revealed in agreed facts tendered to Downing Centre Local Court in which the 51-year-old mum made up emergencies ranging from sexual assaults to robberies.

She pleaded guilty to one count of making a vexatious call to emergency services in the same court and is due to be sentenced on July 31.

According to the facts, Hearne, who goes by the last name of Dakini, is “well-known to police for making vexatious calls to triple-0 to elicit an emergency response”.

“Since September 2000, the accused has falsely contacted triple-0 reporting assaults, neighbour disputes, sexual assaults and stealings which have not occurred … (she) continues to call triple-0, wasting operator time and police resources”.

The Waterloo resident had ignored and “shown total disregard” to repeated warnings by police to stop the vexatious calls or they would take legal action.

The facts detail another incident on May 29 in which Hearne called triple-0 — also at about 4am — stating she had been assaulted but not giving any other details.

The May 29 and May 31 calls relate to the charge Hearne has pleaded guilty to.

But the facts showed they were identical in nature to separate offences for which she was on a conditional release order and a community correction order at the time.

Several assessments by South Sydney PACER (police and ambulance clinical early response) teams have deemed Hearne not to have mental health issues but “she continues to call only to gain attention,” the facts state.

The last straw came for police on May 31, when they went to Hearne’s home at 11:20am and called out to her as they saw her exit her building.

She turned around and saw the officers, but ignored them and crossed the street.

Police were able to intercept her and confront her about her calls while she sat on some stairs, but she told them: “It wasn’t me”.

Hearne would not answer any further questions and was taken to Mascot Police station where she refused an interview.

On her Facebook profile, Hearne has regularly posted photos of the many birds she has kept as pets, including some where they were bizarrely dressed up.

In late 2021, she posted a photo of her conures with her address and told followers she was giving them away.

“Due to medical reasons, I can no longer care for my birds. They are give always (sic),” she wrote.
