NORTHERN Territory's Attorney-General has defended the territory's controversial mandatory alcohol rehabilitation scheme as a life-saver, despite the death of an Aboriginal woman at a treatment centre.
ATTORNEY-GENERAL John Elferink on Friday confirmed a woman died at the Central Australian Aboriginal Alcohol Programmes Unit in Alice Springs late last month.
