Land rights fighter dies

AN indigenous leader who was imprisoned on death row before going on to head the Central Land Council was a capable diplomat, passionate about upholding Aboriginal land rights, Professor Pat Dodson says.

KWEMENTYAYE Stuart, whose real name can't be used for cultural reasons, died on Friday from lung disease.
