Araluen could go in NT voter redivisions
THE NT Electoral Commission has flagged some major changes to electorates in response to shifting demographics, including dumping the seat of Araluen.
THE central Australian seat of Araluen could be abolished in new changes to voting divisions proposed by the Northern Territory Electoral Commission.
GIVEN the decline in voter numbers in the centre, the NTEC has suggested dividing the Araluen population between the two other Alice Springs town seats of Greatorex and Braitling, as well as the bush seat of Stuart, which would be renamed Battarbee.
